Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was a kid she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress from the age of at the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. At the age of 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight straight auditions. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. It also was the most successful film during 2001. Opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by reviewers, and so were the performance of three young starlets. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's performance "amazing". In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
